Validator FAQ

What does the PassMaker validator check?

It checks pass.json structure and, for .pkpass uploads, verifies package files, manifest hashes, the PKCS#7 signature, certificate dates, and signer identity.

Does it verify the .pkpass signature?

Yes. Complete .pkpass uploads are sent to the PassMaker validation API for PKCS#7 signature, embedded WWDR chain, certificate-date, Team ID, and Pass Type ID checks.

Can I validate a pass.json file without a full .pkpass package?

Yes. Upload pass.json directly or use one of the samples to check required keys, pass type fields, colors, barcodes, locations, and web-service credentials.
